Dosa Kitchen are also regulars at Jesmond Food Market and they are frequent collaborators with Wylam Brewery.DK is a real favourite of ours, and we have the beginnings of a plan to run a series of workshops with Sud in the future, as well as other chefs and cookery writers.Places on this first workshop are strictly limited to five.Over to Sud to tell you more...Just a quick note to introduce myself.I was born and brought up in a farming family in the south of India. Growing up with access to fresh produce from an early age was a great advantage and played a big role in shaping my journey as a chef. It gave me a strong understanding of quality ingredients — as Chef Michel Roux once said, “You need great ingredients to make great food.”After completing my graduation in Catering Science and Hotel Management in India, I developed a strong passion for cooking. My professional journey began nearly 25 years ago with the Kempinski Group of Hotels in India. From there, I moved on to work in Dubai, and later came to the UK to work with a French hotel group. After spending over 10 years with them, I decided to pursue my long-held passion of opening a South Indian restaurant.Although my professional background was largely in modern French and Mediterranean cuisine, I always wanted to create something close to my roots. I grew up with South Indian food, and it has always been close to my heart.We initially started as a pop-up on West Road in 2016 to test the waters, and it was an instant success.
