Come and join our family-friendly, peaceful community action to show how much we LOVE our natural bushland and want to protect it and we oppose to a new Woolworths development destroying the sensitive Kincumber Wetlands. 

The native habitat of this area is home to many important animals, birds and insects who call it home. More details about this beautiful sanctuary below.

We will be meeting by the stage at Kibble Park and then we will walk over to Woolies to take a photo under their signage.

Please invite family and friends along and share the event wide and far!

Kids welcome but must be accompanied by an adult at ALL times.

Don't forget to get creative with your colourful banners!

Why join our gathering?
Carrack Rd Kincumber Wetlands have been formally recognised as worthy of preservation as far back as the 1800s. Zoned "public reserve for recreational use" in historical documents and currently zoned "RE1 Public Recreation" and is identified on the Biodiversity Values Map as having high biodiversity value.

The owner and developer has decided to go ahead with the proposal to take steps towards development of this land including leasing to Woolworths & constructing a store & carpark. This would mean the destruction of a large part of the site which would decimate the diverse flora and fauna as well as affecting the wetland which links to Kincumber Creek & Brisbane Water Broadwater.

Please also write to our State member, Adam Crouch at terrigal@parliament.nsw.gov.au or call his office on (02) 4365 1906 and ask what he is doing to save our Endangered Ecological Communities in Kincumber.

It is worth noting that in Woolworths' own 'No-Deforestation Policy' they state: "Woolworths Group aims to achieve No-Deforestation across our Primary Deforestation-Linked Commodities with a target date of 31 December 2025"
