Austere Emergency Care (AEC) is one of the most advanced and prestigious trainings in emergency medicine for extreme conditions, certified by Specialized Medical Standards (SMS) — an organization setting global standards in austere medicine and Prolonged Field Care.

The course draws on special operations experience and the latest tactical medicine guidelines, adapted for civilian and rescue settings. This intensive 40-hour training prepares participants to deliver care in the toughest environments — where access to standard medical care is impossible or significantly delayed.

Requirements:

    No experience needed. verything is taught from the ground up during the course.
    Target group: paramedics, soldiers, special operations operators, medical assistants, medics in civil environment and civil persons who want to learn it!
    Pre-hospital providers who work in rural, remote, austere, and military environments.
    This course builds on the basic concepts of TECC/TCCC.

Course content:

Introductory module — Online (10h)

Fundamentals of austere medicine and Prolonged Field Care.

AEC philosophy — how to operate when time and resources are your greatest constraints.

Pre-test and preparatory materials for the practical phase.

 

Practical module — 4 immersion days

Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse — managing the most severe injuries: massive hemorrhage, burns, crush injuries, TBI.

Austere Clinic Scenarios — setting up a medical point with limited resources.

Prehospital Ultrasound — using field ultrasound for diagnostics.

Disaster Response & Mass Casualty (MASCAL) — response to mass events and disasters.

Improvised Medicine — improvisation techniques in critical situations.

Austere Critical Care — sustaining life and advanced care in the field.

Round Robin Mini-Scenarios — rotating practical drills

Final Simulation Day — a full day of intensive simulations with role players and medical moulage.

Principles and Application of Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Medical Equipment

Equipment:

The course takes place under realistic conditions – regardless of wind, weather, rain or snow:

    Train as You fight – If You work in uniform, Platecarrier or helmet take it with You
    Eye protection
    Clothing appropriate for training and weather conditions (for woman – take Your sports bra for scenarios training)
    Something to do lot of notes 🙂

Attention:

    Every participant will get a SMS Austere Emergency Care;
    Each participant takes part in the event at their own risk;
    Each participant personally sign a declaration of lack of medical contraindications to compete and start at your own risk;
    All participants will not claim compensation from the organizers in the event of incurring bodily injury, mental health or property damage;
    Participnt can not have blood phobia or needel fear;
    We can help to transfer You from Airport to training facility.
