9/11 Memorial 5K Run~Walk & Kids Fun Run

The 2026 event commemorates the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 Attacks on America. Join us in honoring the memory of Gorham native, and graduate of Gorham High School’s class of 1986, Steve Ward, and the other 2,976 victims and 343 fire fighters lost. This annual event is 100% volunteer run - all proceeds go directly to the Stephen G. Ward Memorial Scholarship fund. The scholarship in Steve's name is given each year to a deserving Gorham High School graduate. The 9/11 Memorial 5K has helped raise the annual gift from $200 in 2002 to now over $3,000!
We gather at the Gorham Recreation Center on Ball Park Rd in Gorham. The Kids Fun Run starts at 8:30 a.m., next we send off our firefighters and first responders, who complete the course in full gear, and then our 5K runners and walkers take off! Awards ceremony follows and things wrap uparund 11/11:30 a.m.. We would be so grateful if you would join us!
