Who Is Steve Lanza Jr. – Singer/Songwriter?

Originally from Southeast Massachusetts and now based in Charlottesville, Virginia, Steve Lanza Jr. is a singer/songwriter with over 20 years of live performance experience. His sound is a soulful blend of blues, rock ’n’ roll, and bluegrass, drawing from deep-rooted Americana traditions while bringing a modern edge to every performance.

Since moving to Charlottesville in early 2024, Steve has been carving out a name in the local music scene, playing at venues like Rapture, Holly’s Diner, and Brewing Tree Co. Steve also recently formed a new 4 piece rock n roll band called “Steve and the Instigators” who played their first ever show at Patch Brewery this past summer.

With influences ranging from classic rock icons like Tom Petty to grassroots bluegrass players like Tyler Childers, Steve Lanza Jr. creates a sound that feels both timeless and fresh with music meant to move your feet and stir your soul.
