Deborah Stafford has been a staple of the Colorado Blues scene for many years. But in 2021, Deborah put together the dream team. She created a new band, adding the horn section and keyboards she had always wanted, and thus was born The Night Stalkers. They have been “Stalking the Blues” ever since. Deborah & The Night Stalkers play original Blues, Soul, & Roots Rock, and their horn-driven grooves will get you shakin’ it! With amazing original songs and also covers from artists like Al Green, Etta James, Ray Charles, Amy Winehouse and Ray LaMontagne they mix the best of blues with funk and soul. Their award-winning horn section, masterful guitar by Jeff Bowen (formerly of My Blue Sky), soulful keyboards by Tone Show, and the smoldering vocals of Deborah Stafford take this band to the next level. In May 2022 they made it to the semi-finals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis and opened The (now defunct) Trinidaddio Blues Festival to rave reviews. They won the CBS Blues Challenge for the second year in a row and went to Memphis again in 2023. 2023 also saw them headlining at Blues on the Mesa, Red, White and Blues, and opening Rock & Rails. By 2024 they were headlining large outdoor festivals like Rock & Rails, Louisville Street Faire and Frederick Miner’s Days among their other shows. This band is going places!

Deborah’s songwriting with Dave “Doc” Dougherty, and Jim DeSchamp has created many memorable songs and she relies on Doug Rasmussen, the leader of her horn section and arranger to make that world-class horn sound. Deborah continues to make her mark as a singer and songwriter with heartfelt lyrics and songs you walk out humming.



Delta Sonics
The Delta Sonics music takes a Chicago Blues base and seasons it with Swing, Delta, N’awlins R&B and some early Rock n’ Roll .They have been a well-known Denver/ Boulder based band for 20 years and typically average 200 shows annually. They were Westword’s best blues band in Denver the last six of nine years. The band made the semi-finals in the Memphis (International Blues Challenge) in 2012. The band has been featured at many of the major festivals in Colorado including the Taste of Colorado, Pearl St. Blues & Brews, the Five Points Jazz Festival, Parker Days, Denver BBQ Fest, the Beaver Creek BBQ Festival , Cheyenne Frontier Days , the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, City Park Jazz and many others.

Al Chesis supplies vocals & foot stomping showmanship but it’s his harmonica playing that grabs you. He has been a Hohner endorser since 1992. Al recently received a Colorado Blues Society Lifetime Achievement Award . Bob Pellegrino supplies the dazzling, slide guitar. Bob was the Colorado Blues Society’s best slide guitar player in three years in a row. Rising bass star Alissa Chesis and Stefan Flores on drums ‘drive the bus’ and are a grooving rhythm section .

The Sonics have been the Mile Hi ‘go-to’ band for touring Blues national acts for 15 yrs. The band has backed national blues acts like Big Bill Morganfield, Steadyrollin’ Bob Margolin, Ronnie Baker Brooks, grammy -nominated Lurrie Bell, grammy -nominated John Primer and the late Pinetop Perkins, & the late Bo Diddley.

The Delta Sonics opened for BB King (twice) Robert Cray ( three times) and Jimmy Vaughn (twice) among many others . Al Chesis is a featured guest on Big Head Todd’s album ” Black Beehive ”
