RB&O: Eugene Onegin - Screening at Cranleigh Arts

Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin is a deeply moving story of youthful passion and lifelong regret. When Tatiana pours her heart into a letter to the cool, worldly Onegin, she could never imagine how profoundly it would shape both their futures.

Following her acclaimed company debut in Madama Butterfly, soprano Asmik Grigorian returns as the lovestruck Tatiana, with baritone Igor Golovatenko reprising his powerful portrayal of the urbane Onegin, who realises his feelings far too late.

Directed by Tony Award–winner Deborah Warner, this evocative production has been praised for its “beautifully detailed reading” of Tchaikovsky’s lyrical romance (The Telegraph).
