July's guest of honor is Chris Poore! Chris was recently elected vice president of the Nebraska Writers Guild - a 100-year-old organization whose membership has included Willa Cather, Mari Sandoz, and John Neihardt. 

Come at 6, order a drink, and check out some brand-new to the library books. These books are selected to represent a wide variety of genres, and you get the first look - these books have not seen a bookshelf and aren't yet visible online. You really have first dibs! After discovering your next favorite read, Chris will give a talk about his trilogy The Cottonwood Chronicles, beginning around 6:30.


This coming-of-age series focuses on two kids from Cottonwood, Nebraska in the 1970s: Cole Walker and Tiffany Whitford. As summer unfolds, new faces show up in town and tragic events test Cole and Tiffany. Check out the first two books of the trilogy to see how the story unfolds!
