Some of the footpaths are rocky and can be muddy.About this EventStart point: Ullswater Information Centre, GlenriddingLength: 12.5 km (8 miles) with 425m (1,394ft) of ascentTime: 6 hours (approx.)Walk grade: 4 (see grade description below)A great walk which offers a series of spectacular viewpoints over Ullswater as well as the Glenridding and Grisedale valleys. The walk includes a short section of the Ullswater Way along the eastern shore of Ullswater.The ancient trees of Glenamara Park and signs of the area’s industrial past, plus an unexpected ice house, all add to the interest of this walk.Paths are generally good, but there are some sections which are stony, with exposed tree roots, and others that will be muddy in poor weather.Grade 4 walks are generally full day walks that include hilly ground and require a reasonable level of fitness. You might encounter climbs up some steeper sections. The surfaces may be rough and uneven, with rocky or muddy sections, and you may also find yourself walking up irregular steps, over stiles or through narrow gates and gaps.Participants will need to dress appropriately for the terrain and weather. Weather permitting, we will be stopping for a short break on route so please bring refreshments if you wish.Your confirmation email will include full details - please read it carefully.
