The sheep are losing their winter wool, and you’re invited to the shearing! Chester County Parks + Preservation’s annual Sheep + Wool Day will be held Saturday, May 2 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Springton Manor Farm in Glenmoore, PA.
The highlight of Sheep + Wool Day, the annual shearing of the herd, takes place throughout the day. There will also be food trucks, fleece spinning and weaving demonstrations, kids’ inflatables, face painters, animal education programs, and wagon rides. Tour the Family Farm Museum to learn about seasonal tools used on farms from the 1700’s to the 1900’s.
Springton Manor Farm’s Great Barn will be open with lots of agricultural history to explore. Penn State Extension and 4-H Clubs will showcase animals, milking goats, cows and swine displays.
