The Albany County Pistol Club has been teaching the New York State Pistol Permit Safety Courses for well over a decade. This course is conducted over two days, Saturday 8:00am-5:00pm and Sunday 8:00am-5:00pm. Register for the New York State required course with a professional, experienced team.As per New York State law, concealed carry firearm training must include 16 hours of in-person live classroom instruction and 2 hours of live fire.Topics include:Firearms safety and safe handling practicesFirearm and ammunition function and operationCleaning and maintenanceRange safetyHolster and accessory considerationsConcealed carry considerationsSafe storage and transportation requirementsState and federal gun lawsSituational awareness and concealed carryConflict de-escalation and managementEffects of drugs and alcoholProper interaction with law enforcementSensitive and Restricted areasUse of deadly force and duty to retreat / New York Penal Law Article 35Suicide prevention / recognizing the signsPrinciples of marksmanshipFundamentals of shootingDry fire and live fire exercises (firearm, ammunition, eye & ear protection will be provided)Written testWHAT TO BRING:Notebook & penSnacks & beveragesComfortable footwearOpen mind and attentive attitudeThis class requires no advance preparation.
