The Elevated Eye at Forest Lawn Museum

The Elevated Eye at Forest Lawn Museum

Colin Westerbeck, photography historian, writer and curator, will lead a tour of the inaugural exhibition of Forest Lawn Museum’s renovated galleries. The Elevated Eye examines the history of aerial photography, from its origins in the nineteenth century to the boundary-pushing technologies of the twenty-first century. Far from being just the angel’s-eye view of earth from heaven that one might expect Forest Lawn Memorial Park to present, this exhibition draws from Forest Lawn’s own art collection as well as other local photography collections. Join Colin as he examines this diverse, sometimes quirky, and overall engaging take on the beauty and mystery of aerial photography.
