Repairing traditional plaster in a historic structure presents its own unique challenges. To save the integrity of historic buildings, the goal is to retain as much original material as possible, but most building owners are also looking for the most cost-effective repair that will not need additional maintenance again a few years later. You don’t have to run a museum to find this workshop useful, any homeowner with plaster walls will learn something about a much more efficient and practical way to save this type of construction. Over the last 25 years, Adventures in Elegance has perfected this plaster restoration process and now offers you a glimpse into their solutions with a short workshop on site at the Cockayne Farmstead. During this workshop you will get to know the materials used in their pioneering method and see the techniques demonstrated. No protective clothing is necessary. Note that because of the nature of the project, this particular workshop is not hands-on.
