Gyropalooza Mystery Box Tournament (*Unopened boxes only*)
Hey everyone, it's that time of year to get Gyropolooza boxes and if you're getting one, make sure to read this BEFORE you open yours.
I'm planning to run a free Gyropolooza mystery box tournament at Dunncroft on Sunday, December 7th. There will be optional ace pot, winners pot, and ctps if you want to pay into those, but none are required to play. This will be a casual tournament similar to how league is during the normal season.
***You must have an UNOPENED Gyropolooza box to participate.***
Brick and Mortar Gyropolooza boxes are allowed. Yes, that means you will get 17 discs to throw in this challenge instead of 11 discs if you get a Brick and Mortar box.
I plan to have a few boxes and as many Brick and Mortar boxes as my friends and I can get from all the shops within a few hours of here, which I will sell prior to the event.
Message me if you'd like to purchase any of the boxes and I can reserve them, but message me soon if you would like to get the B&M before I sell out. I'll post an update to confirm how many B&Ms I get and updates on what I have left.
Don't forget to support your local shops like Fly High Sports, Good Sports, or other stores that may have these boxes as well because those will work as long as you keep them unopened.
Event Details:
We will be playing the full course from the short tees. Sign ups start at 12:30 p.m. and end at 1:10 p.m. at the teepad for hole 1 long. We will all open our boxes together right after the players meeting (giving people chances to brag or complain about what discs they got) and then the round will start at 1:30 p.m. with a shotgun style start. We'll be using UDisc for this event.
You must use only the discs you open in your Gyropolooza box. You may not throw discs from other players' boxes or discs that were not opened in your box you entered with into the event.
There will be an optional $2 ace pot. If no one hits an ace during the round, we will have a throw off at hole 2. If no one aces, whoever metals will win the ace pot. If more than one person metals, those people will throw hole 2 again with the same rules. If, at the end of any round no one aces and no one metals, the ctp will win the pot.
There will also be an optional $5 buy-in for multiple closest to the pin prizes. Each ctp will be a new and unthrown premium disc that you can choose from (Neutron Trail, Eclipse Insanity, and a few others from the MVP brands to choose from that I will update soon). Once we total the ctp money, for every $15 I will put a ctp on a different hole (I will add one disc to round up!) So, if there are 7 people that pay $5 to the ctp pot, then there will be $35 in the ctp pot, which I will round up to make to 3 ctp holes for a choice of one premium disc each from what I have.
Lastly, there will be an optional $3 winner's pot for those that want to compete for score. At the end, whoever has the lowest score that paid into the winners pot will take home all of the winners pot. If there is a tie, those people will either split or have the option to do a face off at hole 2, but only if all tied parties want to do so.
All optional pay-ins to the ctp pot, ace pot, and winners pot will be cash only. I will accept cash, cashapp, or Paypal (F&F only) for any of the boxes in person or at the event. Make sure to message me early because I will only have a limited number of each type of box.
After the event, we will have an optional disc trade for anyone that wants to trade any discs with any players, but only after the entire event is over.
This is my first year trying this and I really want this to be a fun experience for everyone. If there is anything you can think of to make this a better experience that I might not have considered, please let me know. Also, definitely feel free to message me or post any questions here.
