- **Event Description**: The Henrico County Police Animal Shelter will hold an adoption event Saturday, August 15 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 10421 Woodman Road.

During the month of August, organizations across the country are encouraged to “Clear the Shelter,” as part of an initiative founded 12 years ago by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and NBCUniversal Local. The county shelter is coordinating with community partners to host a local Clear the Shelter event to find loving homes for dogs, cats and rabbits. Thanks to the Henrico Humane Society, Furbish Thrift and the William A. Harrison Jr. Foundation, many of our pets will be up to date on their vaccinations and spay/neuter procedures, which means they will be ready to go home with their new families upon adoption.
