We welcome writers of all levels, including those who want to try writing for the first time. Together we'll explore trans identity and creative expression; this is a space for you to experiment, whether you’re writing something serious, something playful, or something in-between.Each session begins with a short reading or hands-on creative activity - no preparation required. We might look at short extracts from trans writers, explore zines from the library, or try DIY writing exercises. Time is also set aside for free writing and optional sharing.Join us to experiment and write, connect with other trans writers, discover new creative techniques, and leave each session with fresh ideas and inspiration. All you need to bring is whatever you prefer to write with: pen and paper, a laptop, or another device. Extra pens and paper will be provided.Content warning: Writing about identity and lived experience can touch on topics such dysphoria, discrimination, or mental health. You are encouraged to share only what feels comfortable, and you can listen without sharing, or step out if you need to.About the Community Led Programme:The Community Led Programme at Glasgow Zine Library is made up of events and groups run by and for members of our local community. There will be 15 attendees maximum, and the event will feature comfort breaks. During this event, participants will be involved in: whole group discussions, hands on activities, sharing work that has been created, writing, reading.This event will take place at the GZL space on Albert Road in Govanhill. You can find directions here.You may be asked to wear a mask at this event.GZL provides hand sanitizer and KN95 masks for participants. If you would like to attend and request that all other participants wear masks, you can either ask our staff member on the day or email us ahead of time at glasgowzinelibrary@gmail.com and we will ask all who are able to mask to do so.
