About the Tour
Step back in time on this fantastic journey into 18th-century Scotland, as we explore some of the most iconic Outlander filming locations, along with historic castles, mansion houses, and colorful towns across Central and East Scotland. This unforgettable tour includes: 1) Callendar House – A stunning 14th-century mansion set in the beautiful grounds of Callendar Park. In Outlander, it appears as the home of the Duke of Sandringham and features in one of the most memorable scenes from Season 2, Episode 11: “Vengeance is Mine.” 2) Culross – A perfectly preserved Royal Burgh and filming location for several scenes in Seasons 1 and 2. Wander through the cobbled streets, visit the Culross Palace (a 16th-century merchant’s house), and explore this atmospheric town, which doubled as Cranesmuir in the series. 3) Aberdour Castle – One of the oldest surviving stone castles in Scotland, dating back to the 12th century. In Outlander, it served as the Abbey Ste. Anne de Beaupré, where Jamie recovers from his brutal encounter with Black Jack Randall. 4) Dunfermline – Once the capital of Scotland and now a Royal Burgh, Dunfermline is rich in history. You’ll have time to explore landmarks like Dunfermline Abbey and Palace, Pittencrieff Park, Abbot House, and more.
