- **Event Description**: In the run up to the Merchant City Festival and the Commonwealth Games kicking off on July 23rd/24th, our 3rd event in a summer of piano shenanigans will be a special 'Lids Open Day'. 

Our events are always free, universal and intergenerational though this one is intended to welcome children and young people who may not have attended our events before and enjoyed the unique atmosphere of a Lids Open Day.

We will be back in both the Grand Hall and the Recital Room at City Halls from 10am - 4.30pm offering rare access to play two beautiful Steinway Concert Grand Pianos.  

Registration is requested for attending to help us ensure a good flow of players.

You are welcome to bring friends and family ~ and can expect other players to be there listening too ~ though this event is meant to be an opportunity for the players to meet a great piano in a grand place and have an opportunity to take a breath . . .  and slow down a wee bit . . .  without any big pressure of performing for an audience. The intention is that everyone has around 12 minutes playing time.

We may well also organise some performances around lunchtime between 1-2pm. Lets see what happens!
