Falling In Love With Presence is an invitation to step out of the noise of constant thinking and rediscover the quiet intimacy of simply being.

Over these two days, we will explore stillness, silence, and the space before thought—not as ideas, but as a direct, lived experience.

Through gentle guidance, meditation, and shared inquiry, you’ll begin to notice that what you’ve been seeking is already here, effortlessly present. As the habit of chasing and fixing softens, a natural sense of ease and clarity emerges.

This retreat is not about becoming something new, but about relaxing into what has never been absent.

About the teacher

Suryacitta Malcolm Smith, is one of the most experienced mindfulness teachers in the UK, starting his practice in 1989. He is the author of five books including, ‘Finding Contentment through Mindfulness’ published in 2011 and Mindfulness and Compassion – Embracing life with Loving Kindness, 2015, both published by Ivy Press.

Suryacitta has taught mindfulness and compassion meditation to 1000s of people in the UK and abroad. From 2001 to 2005 he lived in a meditation retreat centre, dedicated to intensive practice and teaching. He is known as the teacher’s teacher having taught many of the teachers in Leicestershire, the UK and Europe. He is renowned for his absolute down-to-earth approach, and for his simplicity, clarity and humour in teaching, being free of mindfulness jargon and cliches. 

About the weekend

The retreat will be held over 2 days at the tranquil studios in Southside Glasgow. Delicious homemade cake and hot cuppas will be available over the weekend; there is a well equipped kitchenette on site available for your pack lunch including microwave, fridge and utensils.
