Gwyn Griffiths. While Swansea’s Egypt Centre remains a primary hub, the Welsh contribution is surprisingly widespread, with over 20 diverse collections across the nation housing ancient Egyptian artefacts. This talk will present a brief overview of these collections, highlighting how the distribution of objects across Wales reflects a deep-seated national fascination with the Nile.Dr Ken Griffin is the Curator of the Egypt Centre, Swansea University. His association with the Egypt Centre first began in 2000 as a volunteer. Over the past two decades, he has been researching the collection, including publishing a number of the objects. Prior to his appointment as the Curator, he was a lecturer in Egyptology at Swansea University.
