No experience is necessary to join–each of us is learning through experimentation! We share ideas, tips, and skills. We might be working on our own fragments of bigger projects, or spontaneous scrappy snippets together!Any approach is welcome, be it hand-drawing, collage, stop-motion, digital images, or something else. You can show up with or without an idea. We often don’t know what we’ll work on until we get there and start to experiment! Most of us use the app Stop Motion Studio and its camera app on our phones and on the Zine Library's iPads (you can download a free trial on your phone/tablet, we also have tools to share).The DIY Animation Club sprang from the Secrets of DIY Animation courses which ran at the Zine Library in 2022, 2023, and 2026.About the Community Led Programme:The Community Led Programme at Glasgow Zine Library is made up of events and groups run by and for members of our local community. There will be 12 attendees maximum, and the event will feature comfort breaks. During this event, participants will be involved in: hands on activities, sharing work that has been created, sound/music, eating/drinkingThis event will take place at the GZL space on Albert Road in Govanhill. You can find directions here.You may be asked to wear a mask at this event. GZL provides hand sanitizer and KN95 masks for participants. If you would like to attend and request that all other participants wear masks, you can either ask our staff member on the day or email us ahead of time at glasgowzinelibrary@gmail.com and we will ask all who are able to mask to do so. Additionally, we have an air purifier with HEPA filters in the library.If you have any questions or access requirements, please get in touch with us via events@glasgowzinelibrary.comGZL pledges to support The Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel. As part of this pledge we may participate in strikes called in response to the ongoing genocide in Palestine.
