Her second novel, The Sunlight Pilgrims, earned her Scottish Author of the Year.Across her career she has been listed for the Encore Award, the James Tait Black Memorial Prizes, the Desmond Elliott Prize, the Sunday Times Short Story Award and the Pushcart Prize. She is a Doctor of Philosophy, a member of Liberty and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.The Panopticon saw a sell-out run with the National Theatre of Scotland. She’s adapting it for film — which she’ll write and direct herself.
