About the event
Build the skills and confidence you need for winter backcountry travel in the Level 1 Avalanche Course, hosted by the Alaska Avalanche School from December 20–22, 2025, with daily sessions from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Turnagain Pass. This 3-day course blends classroom instruction with hands-on fieldwork, covering avalanche terrain recognition, snowpack evaluation, safe travel techniques, and rescue protocols.
