- **Event Description**: The first Saturday in May is Free Comic Book Day! Stop by the Gilroy Library to pick up 2 free small comic books that you can take home and keep.

No registration required. Comic book distribution will begin at 10:30AM and will end at 2PM while supplies last. Comics are available for all ages; please refer to age ratings on individual titles. Limit 2 comics per person.

Please note that the free comic books available are small floppy volumes and are limited to the titles at the designated giveaway tables for this special event. We always have comic books and graphic novels in the library's collection available to check out with your library card. See our eBook comics on ComicsPlus too!

Join us May 2 for a full day of free comic books, arts, crafts, music, and a cosplay contest:

At 11am Illustrator Oliver Chen will present a drawing workshop with a focus on Manga. Register to receive a reminder email. Walk-ins welcome as space allows. This workshop is for ages 10+

At 1pm the South Bay Trombone Choir as they interpret classic pop culture melodies in a live musical performance. Enjoy light refreshments and crafts.

We encourage everyone to dress up. For those brave enough, participate in the cosplay contest for a chance to win prizes.

On Sunday, May 3 at 2pm Marvel Entertainment comic artist Jerry Decaire will be presenting on Making a Superhero Comic.

¡El primer sábado de mayo es el Día del Cómic Gratis! Visita la Biblioteca de Gilroy para recoger un cómic pequeño gratis que puedes llevarte a casa.
