Welcome to Parenthood - One Day Course

H ello and Congratulations! Please read all of the below before booking your class.

W elcome to our Welcome to Parenthood Antenatal Education Course. Following feedback from our existing sessions we are now carrying out a one day course.

This will be held at Medway Maritime Hospital, Windmill Road, ME7 5NY. In the Postgraduate Centre, in the Common Room. The Postgraduate Centre can be found opposite the Main Entrance to the Hospital, adjacent to Car Park 1.

The day will run from 09:30 to 15:30 - with 2 tea breaks and a lunch break. There are limited facilities on site to purchase lunch so we encourage you to bring something from home. Additionally, feel free to bring a cushion/pillow from home to make yourselves more comfortable on our chairs.

Attendees are more than welcome to attend alone, but if booking for 2, please book a space for yourself and a birth partner (i.e. 1 couple will need to book 2 tickets).

We would advise you are approximately 30 weeks+ on the date of the course.

We will cover many topics including:

• Your pregnancy, baby's development and bonding
• Stages of labour and pain relief options
• Different types of birth
• Emotional changes in pregnancy and postpartum and how to manage
• Everything you need to know about your newborn baby

There will be more information about course content available on the class Padlet, which is sent to you the week before the course starts.
