About the event

Nigel Clark from Dodgy and Chris Helme from The Seahorses live At Rainham Platform 3 Club
Welcome to our fantastic double headline gig with Nigel Clark and Chris Helme!
Chris Helme, frontman of John Squire's post-Stone Roses band The Seahorses and acclaimed solo artist, is set to bring a collection of brand-new material to audiences for the first time in a decade, as he tours his latest album, World of my Own, taking in venues and festivals across the UK.
Nigel Clark: After Dodgy disbanded in the early 2000’s, Nigel pursued a solo career, releasing several albums and continuing to captivate audiences with his soulful vocals and heart felt lyrics. His solo work showcases his versatility as a musician, with influences ranging from Folk to Indie Rock. Nigel Clark’s music continues to resonate with fans old & new, and he remains a respected figure in the British music industry. With his distinctive voice and musicianship, Nigel Clark is sure to leave a lasting impact on the music world for years to come.
Chris Helme, who first rose to prominence as the front man of John Squire's post-Stone Roses band 'The Seahorses' released his brand new solo album on the 27th of August 2012. Still rightfully remembered for the anthemic Britpop classics 'Love Is The Law' and 'Blinded By The Sun' - songs that evoked everything the 90's stood for, the excitement, the culture and the bands that provided a voice in a period of political and social imbalance. Present day societal context may well in fact mirror those times but the man himself, now, appears cut from an entirely different cloth. Helme has an enviable back catalogue, bolstered further by his acclaimed works with The Yards, but it's his latest offering The Rookery's knack for melody and imaginative, intricate, three-way guitar interplay that brings each track to such lush, blossoming, climaxes. Add to this Helme's keen ear for arranging and those brooding string passages resonate even more deeply.

Nigel Clark - singer and songwriter best known as an original member of British rock band Dodgy. Born & raised in Headless Cross in Worcestershire, Nigel’s passion for music started at a young age working in a record shop at 14 years of age, after picking up a guitar in the mid 80’s he would go on to find success with Dodgy in the 1990’s.With Dodgy, Nigel enjoyed chart- topping success and critical acclaim, releasing hit singles such as “Staying out for the Summer & “Good Enough”. The band’s unique blend of Indie & Rock quickly garnered a loyal fanbase, and they became a staple of the UK music scene.
