There are a variety of restaurants in the area to grab food before or after the event.The Giving Circle ConceptWe are an informal group of women who love to support their community. We utilize a giving circle model of philanthropy to create a quarterly impact in our community. A “giving circle” is formed when individuals come together and pool their dollars, decide together where to give the money, and learn together about their community and philanthropy. We’ve learned that small acts, when multiplied by many people, can transform a community.100+ Women Who Care Valley of the Sun is run by an Executive Committee of big-hearted volunteers along with the support of very generous sponsors. Our members make their donations directly to the local charities we select resulting in 100% of all donations going directly to those organizations. The goal of our giving circle chapter is to support the wonderful work our local nonprofits do in funds, exposure, and awareness in a minimal amount of time.A Big ImpactOur goal is to donate $10,000+ at each giving circle. We accomplish this when 100+ women come together for one (1) hour to learn about three (3) local charities. Our members nominate the charities and present the nonprofits’ mission, needs, and how a $10,000+ donation would be used by the organization. Our members vote and the charity with the most votes receives our members’ quarterly donations. Each member donates $100 directly to the charity and in one (1) hour, $10,000+ is donated to that organization.Our members get together quarterly and come from all over the Phoenix metro area to participate. We currently have three (3) groups meeting throughout the Valley of the Sun – Ahwatukee, Scottsdale and East Valley.
