MCK-Traditional Korean Kimbap (Seaweed Rice Roll) served with Fish Cake Soup (Eomuk guk)
Kimbap (or gimbap) is a Korean seaweed rice roll filled with a variety of delicious fillings. Gim means dried seaweed, and bap means rice. With various fillings, these rice rolls offer an interesting combination of textures and flavours.
When it’s cold outside, fish cake simmered in a light savory broth is just perfect to warm up not just the tummy but the gray weather, too. Eomuk (aka odeng) is processed fish cake made with pureed fish and other ingredients. It’s a common ingredient used in various Korean dishes such as gimbap and eomuk bokkeum.
