Once upon a time, families gathered to host fantastic Thanksgiving feasts, then made a trip to the local movie theater to take in one of the new release movies or holiday classics on the big screen. It used to be one of the busiest movie days of the year until Black Friday pushed into Thanksgiving so much that it dimmed the magic.
This year, in 2025 when many of us are feeling the pressure of life all too well and have had/continue to have a rough year, we invite you to join us for a step back in time at the drive-in with a FREE showing of one of the ultimate Thanksgiving movies(filmed right here in IL!): PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES on the big screen.
You see, we have a tradition in our family of inviting over folks(that sometimes don't have anywhere else to go) to our holiday meal. While we can't do that for a lot of people, our theater absolutely can host hundreds of people for a special get together this Thanksgiving.
Whether you can't make it to see friends/family far away, lacking the holiday spirit, or do have your family gathering close by, we invite you all to join us for this 1 night only movie on screen 2 with room for over 200 cars to join us. The holiday preshow starts at 5:30 pm and the show will start at 6:30 pm. Admission to see Planes, Trains and Automobiles is free(we're paying the film rights out of pocket so you can all join us without expense). We only ask you to purchase a food permit(100% donated to St. Jude during the holidays) if you bring in any food/drinks/snacks for the show. We will have the Snack Bar open with hot goodies like our loaded hot chocolate & coffee bar, fresh pizzas, nachos, chips, candy, pretzels & more as well as cool dirty sodas, bogo ice cream and more.
The lights are on for the lighted lane, the photo ops will be available to use from 5:30 to 8pm, Santa & Mrs. Claus will be joining us for free photos/meet & greet 6 pm to 7:30 pm, and the Grinch will be here at the end of the show!
