Sicily Contact Improvisation Retreat is a an opportunity to immerse in somatic practices that enrich our dances, focusing on Contact Improvisation.
Participants will explore movement and dance facilitated by three diverse teachers: Marta Iucci (Italy), Marta Wrzesinska (Poland), and Jesús Alonso (Spain). The gathering will take place in an astonishing location, Femminamorta, a bright 180 m² hall with incredible views.
Over five days, we will experience different approaches to Contact Improvisation, fostering shared learning and growth, to deepens our practice, building connections and relations.
🌷THE PLACE
Femminamorta is the name of the patronal house that houses the Azienda Agricola San Martino, from the name of the old district where it stands, the scene of ancient legends. The patronal villa, with a millstone from the 18th century, was the house of the Harvest of Baron Pennisi Di Floristella, then abandoned and unusable due to the Messina earthquake in 1908.
Resurrected in the early 1990s thanks to the dedication and love of Paolo and Mme Marie-Luce, it appears to be a timeless place immersed in the greenery of a typical Mediterranean park and organized by mixing ancient spirit and contemporary comfort with highly original charm. The farm produces fruit, palm and hemp plants.
Today, following the spirit of Marie Luce, it combines agricultural activity with rural tourism, opening its doors to wanderers sensitive to Beauty and Nature or on the occasion of creative, holistic and artistic retreats and residencies.
Thus the large cellar becomes a room for events or classes, the kitchen is equipped to prepare even for special occasions, the vegetable garden offers fresh delicacies just a few meters away, the eastern patio is ideal for greeting the Sun or singing to the Moon with the scent of the sea, the park to immerse yourself in Nature or in the swimming pool hidden among the trees and, just beyond, the Shala, with its chestnut wood floor, is designed to host holistic and artistic practices or small events; the western terrace is ideal for an aperitif at sunset in the shadow of Etna.
Between Etna and the sea, 2 minutes from Praiola beach, just over 30 from Etna, Catania and Taormina.

🍝 FOOD
We offer a diverse and plentiful ovo-lacteo vegetarian buffet.
We also provide options for those with celiac disease.
3 daily meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are served as a FREE, self-service buffet.
Our menu includes:
Cold dishes: Various salads, cooked brown rice, assorted grains, pasta, and fresh fruit.
Warm dishes (rotating selection): Soups, creams, legumes, rice dishes, pasta, plant-based protein options, and more.

If you are unable to participate in the event and inform us before March 28th, we will refund your money.
If you cancel your reservation after March 1th, the deposit won't be refunded, but you may transfer your spot to another interested person.
