Death/Thrash Metal – Países Bajos

Surgida en los Países Bajos a comienzos del siglo XXI, Legion of the Damned consolidó su nombre con un estilo directo, oscuro y agresivo, alejado de tendencias pasajeras.

Su debut como Legion of the Damned, "Malevolent Rapture" (2006), fue producido por Andy Classen y marcó el inicio de una carrera imparable. Le siguieron discos esenciales como Sons of the Jackal (2007), Feel the Blade (2008, una reinterpretación de su etapa como Occult), Cult of the Dead (2008) y Descent into Chaos (2011), este último grabado en Suecia por Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain).

Tras la salida del guitarrista Richard Ebisch, la banda incorporó a Twan van Geel, quien aportó nuevas ideas y presencia escénica. Su disco Ravenous Plague (2014), nuevamente bajo la producción de Andy Classen, marcó una evolución hacia un sonido aún más oscuro y técnico, con influencias blackened y estructuras más elaboradas.

Durante más de dos décadas, Legion of the Damned ha llevado su poderoso directo a los principales festivales de Europa —Wacken Open Air, Graspop, Summer Breeze, Masters of Rock— y ha compartido escenario con bandas como Cannibal Corpse, Kreator, Behemoth, Sodom, Celtic Frost y Sepultura. También han llevado su música a Sudamérica, Asia y Oriente Medio, consolidando una base de fans global.

En 2019 publicó "Slaves of the Shadow Realm", considerado su álbum más oscuro y atmosférico hasta la fecha. Es un trabajo que reafirma su lugar como una de las bandas más consistentes del metal extremo europeo.

Además, estará acompañada por las bandas riojanas Sacra (melodic death/black metal) y Ataxia-F (death metal).
