We have changed the date so to the degree you are comfortable, make your plans for Another premier Battlefield Hike with LBGs Garry Adelman and Timothy Smith as we tour the area of Rock Creek and Culp’s Hill! We will start at the Southern edge of the town and walk the historic Culp Farm Lane to the area of Culp’s Hill along Rock Creek. Along the way there will be plenty of Local crap by Tim and photographic line up by Garry. Revealed in public for the first time, will be the location of the historic “Two Rocks.” After exploring the area of Rock Creek, the tour will examine the attack on Culp’s Hill, from the southern perspective and the crest of the hill from Union defense, following a path back to our starting point at the edge of town.
There will be helpers, water stops and prizes! Once again, this tour will be a bring your own lunch/snacks, which will be eaten somewhere near the Spangler’s Spring Restrooms. A walking stick is a good idea as well. Anyone is welcome! The more the merrier. We are a very kind bunch so don't hesitate as this will serve the casual visitor as well as those who are quite familiar with the Battle of Gettysburg and other aspects of the area. If you have never been to a Tim and Garry event you owe it to yourself. You will not leave disappointed and this is a very reasonable tour. There will be $25 donation (cash at time of event) with a portion going to benefit battlefield preservation to an entity such as the American Battlefield Trust. Children under 12 are free. Please share to friends and groups who you may think may be interested. Masks are strongly encouraged, as is social distancing.
The group will meet at the Unity Park in Gettysburg, Along South Baltimore Street and Lefever Street, in Gettysburg, near the entrance to the Gettysburg Middle Street. There is parking available at various locations in town, including the municipal parking garage. Just be careful to follow the posted rules and pay meters if necessary. Parking along the right side of East Confederate Avenue is also available. Hope to see you there!
