Come join us for our weekly 11+ Open Gym at the Plumgar Community Center in Germantown MD.
This is a teen/ preteen group but younger siblings are welcome as well.
We are a secular and inclusive group so all are welcome.
Please bring an ID that shows you live in Montgomery County in order to use the community center for free.
Show up anytime from 12:30-3pm. It's a good idea to post if you plan to be there at the very beginning or only at the end to make sure others will also be there. There is no organizer who will be there the entire time.

Where: Plumgar Community Center

When: Most Wednesdays 12:30-3pm (we often stay later than 3pm when the weather is nice.)
Who: This group is called 11+ because you must have at least one child who will be 11 by the end of August but all younger siblings are welcome. Both the teens and the younger kids have a tendency to go where the adults can’t see them so if this makes you nervous, talk to your kids about what you expect from them ahead of time. This, however, is not a drop off (even for your teens). You must be here and supervising even if from a distance.
What: Outside there is a playground, basketball court, baseball field and some woods. These can be reimagined for lots of sports, activities and play. Inside there is a gym, computer room, and a game room.
To bring: If the weather is nice: bring stuff your kids would like to play outside. That could be sports equipment, activities, or things they might use for imaginative play. Also bring lawn or beach chairs because there's not much seating outside. If it’s raining or super hot, bring sports equipment to use inside in the gym, board games, Legos, non-messy STEM supplies, etc.
Cost: Free for MoCo residents. Homeschoolers from other counties are welcome to join us when we are outside (which we often are) but they would need to pay to use the gym or game room. (They can use the bathroom and water fountain without paying).
Rules: The center has asked that anyone on the gym floor wear sneakers (not Crocs, boots, sandals or anything with open toes.) This does not apply to anyone who only plans to sit on the bleachers. Also, the only food allowed in the gym is water.
