- **Event Description**: Reprising our popular service, "Christmas by Candlelight," this service will open with shadow and light, and welcome the Spirit with a memory of the Word made flesh. This month, we welcome Pastor Steve Buchele, who will present a meditation the topic, "Striving for Hope."

The Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service is a candlelight, contemplative prayer service that meets once per month. All services are open to the public. We pray together by using two very special types of worship templates: the Service of Healing and Wholeness and Taizé Common Prayers. 

We are led by a diverse community of area Christians, and these services are open to all who would come. Songs are sung from the Community of Taizé. Opportunities are given for intercessory prayer and the lighting of candles. A time is set aside for private prayer and anointing with oil. Communion is offered to all in attendance, with gluten-free elements available. 

About the meditations: Our subject for the coming season is "Hope Beyond All Hope." It is based on the Taizé theme for 2025, "Esperer au Dela de Toute Esperance," which considers perseverance and faith even in the worst of times. Brief homilies will be prepared by area pastors and lay speakers. Scripture will be selected for meditation based on each topic. Events this season: Services will continue to take place one Sunday per month at 6:30 pm, with some noted exceptions (*) around holidays in the November / December months. May 31	Pilgrims of Hope / Pilgrims of Peace	San Gabriel Presbyterian Church

About the songs: Taizé Prayer chants are congregational, made of short phrases that are repeated for ease of participation.
