The Coop presents our infamous costume holiday ball with a new twist for 2025…with so many struggling this year, not only do we want to celebrate your chosen winter holiday & the upcoming winter solstice, we want to help remind the world that love & kindness still prevail by making this event a benefit. We are partnering with Central Ky Mutual Aid to help our local community meet needs of those that are struggling. So in lieu of bringing gifts, we are asking you to bring donations for this amazing grassroots organization that is helping feed, clothe, & otherwise meet the needs of those that need a hand up this season. Please bring non-perishable food items, toiletries, gently used coats/winter gear, gently used toys, & a generous spirit. Don’t worry if you don’t have any of those things to donate because there will be plenty of opportunities to donate monetarily…
We will have a silent auction just in time for your holiday giftgiving & some prize winning challenges if you’re so inclined to play.
Other than that addition to our regularly scheduled program, the party will be much the same. The theme this year is Midnight, In the Garden of Good & Evil inspired by my recent trip to Savannah so bust out your best, pinky out, fanciest, Savannah-inspired outfits to win the Best Dressed Award. Choose the character that most strikes your fancy from the book or movie version. We will stick with the tradition of this event being potluck. Every year, the delish spread y’all create is nothing short of a work of art. Our tribe is definitely blessed with some incredibly talented cooking artists! Please comment what you’re bringing to share in the food thread. As always, this is a family friendly gathering so be mindful of that on both sides.
Also, please remember that it is crucial that you park on the street & come through the front gate… that’s the prettiest view anyway! If you would like to donate to the silent auction, please contact any of the hosts. These should be delivered or picked up by Dec 17th so we can plan accordingly. If you’d like to help create the holiday magic at The Coop, let me know & you’ll get to have a sneak peak seeing how I transform The Coop into the Mercer Williams House. Y’all know our home is always an open house community…all are welcome so long as they are kind & respectful to our home & those in it.
We are feeling extremely blesses that DJ Desire aka Corey Draper & Jace from the Formal Dance Society will be providing our dance floor inspirations by creating his musical artwork. We can wait to celebrate with all y’all!
