- [Dwayne Bussell | 2025-11-18 21:02:32] Addiction treatment centers, counselors and Doctors all advise Not To Enable Drug Addicts YET that is what The Gathering Place has been doing since the new Director has taken over. Developers are trying to clean this neighborhood up but The Gathering Place keeps bringing in more and more drug addicts into our neighborhood from all over the state. They serve them 2 meals a day and give them a place to sleep every night, this is enabling them to continue their life styles. No bills and hot meals means more money the addicts can spend on drugs. The police and or EMS are there on average 5 times a week, there have been fights, overdoses and plenty of disorderly conducts from those they serve. I would guess that about 90% of the people they are serving through their Emergency shelter are active drug addicts and they do not have to submit to any drug tests to stay. It wasn't always this way, it actually used to be a decent place up till the last few years. STOP DONATING MONEY TO ENABLE ADDICTS!
