On March 6, staff, students and unions at Ghent University are organising a feminist strike in the context of International Women’s* Day on March 8. With this action, we want to send a strong message that UGent holds a responsibility to create a more caring, just and safe environment for its staff, students and the wider society. We will gather on March 6 at 1:30 PM for an action directed at the Board of Governors. Afterwards, we will host a panel discussion with staff members and student representatives from Ghent University.
This year, we formulate five concrete demands:
1. Insource cleaning staff
2. Abolish the pension penalty
3. Fight transgressive behaviour
4. Fund education, not militarisation
5. Impose a full academic boycott of Israel
We hope to see you on the 6th of March, at the UFO stairs, for an action directed at the board of governors and a feminist panel!
