De vierkoppige Dublinse band komt hun nieuwe album Pull Like A Dog voorstellen op 2 december in Club Wintercircus. Wat begon als een virale video op het Rory Gallagher International Festival, groeide uit tot een van de meest eigenzinnige bands van het moment. Hun vorige plaat Mind Yourself schopte het tot de top van de charts en leverde hun nominaties, airplay en internationale shows op, én een passage in Netflix-serie House of Guinness.

Live is The Scratch een klasse apart, als in heel apart. Hun mix van folk en metal, akoestisch en elektrisch, trekt al eens een oog op. Origineel? Dat is het wel. Ambiance? Ongetwijfeld. DUG bestaat uit Jonny Pickett en Lorkin O’Reilly en heeft zich stevig gevestigd als een van de meest unieke en herkenbare krachten in de folk revival, mede dankzij singles als ‘The Big Sundown’ en ‘Jubilee’ (genomineerd voor twee Grammy’s). Voor wie ze kent: DUG is een onbeschaamd moderne band, hoewel hun muziek voortkomt uit de muzikale tradities van zowel de grote Amerikaanse folk-troubadours als de oudere staatslieden van de Ierse folk.
