At Cinema Obscura Gent, we dig up the weirdest, wildest cult gems ever put on screen. Next on the menu: a movie so legendarily awful that it flipped all the way around into must-see territory.
Samurai Cop (1991) is about a Los Angeles cop who’s supposedly trained as a samurai but mostly just runs around in bad wigs, awkward sex scenes, and terrible fight choreography. He teams up with his wisecracking partner to take down a Japanese crime gang, but the real battle is against continuity errors, wooden acting, and insane dialogue. It’s a glorious trainwreck that became a cult classic because it’s so bad it’s unforgettable.
