Moor Mother brengt een duoset met cellist Mathis Mayr. Camae Ayewa beweegt zich tussen poëzie, klank en onderozek, en legt bloot hoe koloniale geschiedenissen doorerken in het heden. Haar nieuwste album, 'The Great Bailout', vertrekt vanuit de Britse compensatie voor slavernij: een staatslening, afbetaald tot in 2015, die niet de slachtoffers maar slavenhouders vergoedde. Stem en cello ontmoeten elkaar zonder vaste rolverdeling: tekst, toon en ruis die elkaar in realtime onder spanning zetten. 

Het ensemble Razen vertrekt vanuit klank zelf. Hun nieuwste album, 'Stained Glass Starling' (VIERNULVIER Records), opgenomen in een woonkamer en grotendeels in één take, toont muziek in haar meest geconcentreerde vorm. Brecht Ameel, Kim Delcour en Dick van der Harst bouwen samen met Berlinde Deman en Paul Garriau een klankveld zoals een schilder werkt: laag per laag, met aandacht voor spanning, textuur en nuance. Een breed scala aan instrumenten, waaronder de Erhu en de Javaanse kacapi, kantelt het klanklandschap subtiel.
