Kaat Van Stralen laat zich niet zomaar in een hokje plaatsen. Wat begon als een origineel solo project, groeide uit tot een genre-overstijgende punkband, aangevuld met Melvin Slabbinck (drums), Anton Robberechts (gitaar) en Faust De Vogelaere (bas). Streng maar rechtvaardig roept Kaat alle genres op het matje. Van punk en psychedelica tot alternatieve spoken word. Verwacht je aan verhit taalkabaal, krakende beats, bitse gitaarriffs en pompeus gebas.

Dat ze niet te stoppen is, bewees ze met overwinningen bij De Nieuwe Lichting 2025 én Sound Track Vlaams-Brabant 2024. Ook haar passage op Boomtown 2025 bleef niet onopgemerkt – ondanks de gietende regen wist ze een uitzinnig publiek te veroveren.

Met debuutsingle Stop Met Wenen ging ze meteen van start met een punkrock anthem voor alle vrouwen, buitenbeentjes en voelers. Het nummer brak taboes open en werd door HUMO gebombardeerd tot “het belangrijkste Belgische nummer in tijden”. Drie weken lang stond het op nummer één in De Afrekening, en ook op TikTok groeide het uit tot een fenomeen met tientallen lip-syncvideo’s van jonge vrouwen die de song tartend meezongen.
In november 2025 brengt Kaat haar eerste EP uit, geproduceerd door Pieter-Jan Decraene, met als eerste single Aerobics. Met de nieuwe EP op zak zakt ze af naar de Charlatan op 19 februari 2026 voor een show vol intense energie, sterke boodschappen en expressieve kracht.

Coup Dur ontstond afgelopen lente ergens tussen Brussel en Parijs en bestaat uit Clémence (bas, zang), Avril (gitaar, zang) en César (drums). Ze balanceren tussen brutale sixties girlband-vibes en het lo-fi romanticisme van late 70s/80s soft punk. Korte, Franse songs met een bewust naïeve, scherpe twist.
