Genoa hasn’t seen this many horses on its streets in over 175 years, and we’re bringing the past to life with an unforgettable celebration of horsemanship, history, and hometown pride.

Get ready for a true step back in time as Main Street Genoa comes alive with horses, wagons, and the unmistakable rhythm of hoofbeats echoing through town on Saturday, April 25th at 2pm. 

The spirit of the Old West will be on full display—authentic, vibrant, and unforgettable! Genoa Western Heritage Days 2026 honors the memory of Dr. Brian Peck, DVM, and has named him and the Peck family Grand Marshals for the 2026 Invitational Horse Parade.
 
Dr. Peck was a trusted veterinarian, a steward of the Western way of life, and a man whose heart for animals and community left a lasting mark on our valley. He passed away unexpectedly in January 2025. His legacy lives on through the countless lives—both two- and four-legged—he cared for with dedication, grit, and compassion.
 
The horse parade will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25 from Genoa Cemetery and proceed through the historic downtown to Carson Street, returning to the Cemetery along the same route.
 
Jacks Valley Road/Main Street will be closed to traffic between the Genoa Cemetery and Carson Street from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. for the Horse Parade, with no detours or access via side streets. 

The Invitational Horse Parade is sponsored by Haliwell Homes, Krissie & Brent Haliwell.
