It’s hard to believe we’re coming up on the 3-year anniversary of the Fox Valley Jammers Club—and wow, what a ride it’s been. Together, we’ve helped bands form, collaborations spark, friendships grow, venues thrive, and confidence bloom. Nearly 2,700 musicians stronger, braver, and more willing to step on stage and share their art. Albums have been written. Ideas have taken shape. Community has happened.
And none of it works without the heartbeat of it all: our open mic hosts.
On MARCH 29th, we’re coming together to celebrate and shine a well-deserved spotlight on the hosts of nearly 40 open mic locations across the Fox Valley—the folks who create the spaces where this magic happens. Without them, many of us would still be playing alone in basements or posting videos into the social-media void. Hosts turn music into connection, and connection into community.
So let’s celebrate what makes each of us unique—and what makes us better together.
📍 SUNDAY MARCH 29th at EvenFlow Music & Spirits (Geneva)
🕕 Doors & performer sign-ups open at 3:00pm
🕖 Music starts at 4:00pm
🕚 We’ll keep the music rolling until ~9:00pm
🍔 Full food menu & full bar available.
Everyone is encouraged to come ready to play—and to cheer others on.
How performing will work (please read):
• Each FVJC Host is guaranteed a 12-minute slot on one stage of their choice
• All non-host performers will be selected by lottery
• This keeps things fair and avoids favoritism—no matter when you arrive
• Arriving earlier means fewer entries at that moment, but everyone always has an equal chance regardless of when they arrive.
• There will be two separate lotteries—one for each stage.
🎸 Stage breakdown:
• Main Stage: ensembles & open jams (no solo or duo acts)
• SpeakEasy Stage: dedicated to solo and duo performances
If your name is drawn, it’s YOUR time—invite anyone you’d like to join you. Acts will be announced multiple times, up to three performers in advance, so please be ready, tuned, and set to go. You’ll have 12 minutes, and when your set wraps up, we ask that you clear the stage promptly so we can welcome the next act. The goal is to give as many musicians a chance to play as possible—thank you for helping make that happen.
This will be one of the biggest open jam celebrations of the year and an incredible opportunity for local exposure, connection, and community.
Come to support, and be supported. Come to play. Come to celebrate the hosts who make it all possible.

Side note: March 31st also happens to be my birthday—and honestly, there’s no better way I could imagine spending it than celebrating this community and the open mic hosts who make it all possible. You’re all invited—no gifts required, just your presence and your support. My birthday wish is to simply stand in a room full of musicians, hosts, friends, and first-timers who make this community everything that it is. Come help me celebrate the real MVPs—our open mic hosts.
