Celebrating 160 Years of Godfrey Hirst! The National Wool Museum is proud to present Made in Geelong: Godfrey Hirst, an exhibition honouring Geelong’s first textile company and its founder.

This showcase marks 160 years of manufacturing history, featuring rare objects, photographs, and stories that highlight Godfrey Hirst’s lasting impact on design and innovation.

As a UNESCO City of Design, Geelong celebrates its rich textile heritage and future in sustainable manufacturing.
