It’s time for the September 2026 edition of the Gaston FolkSing at the Gaston Pour House!  

We will gather, as we do every month on the evening of the third Thursday, to share our songs, tunes, readings, stories, toasts, jokes, and each other’s company.  It’s not a concert night, but rather, a shared folk experience.  And the Pour House has plenty of soft drinks, wines, beers, ciders, cocktails, coffee drinks, and lovely foods to make it a full and complete evening.  

Every month, we celebrate two or three optional themes to make it interesting.  

Theme, the first… Lookee, we be celebratin’ the grandest and very most forthright elecutional holidays of humanatee this ‘ere month.  The great day bein’ International Talk Like a Pyrate Day!  Bein’ that as the case that exists, we’ll be sharin’ around the crew those songs of the sea, sailin’, freebootin’, the water, the ports, stormy blows, boardin’, pillagin’, fight in’, lovin’, oceanic commerce wreck in’, and sea biscuits that we all do finely adore.  Avast, belike!

Theme two…  It’s the most wonderful time of the year.  Of course, I’m talking about the close of Summer and the opening of Autumn.  Bring songs inspired by Autumnal themes of harvesting, taking account, giving thanks, abundance, change, decline, death, and whatever else this season means to you.

Theme, the Third… Labor Day comes but once a year.  Celebrate the month with music about or inspired by the struggles and achievements of the working class.
