Event Title: 12 Months/12 Hikes 2024 – Fort Stevenson
Event Description: Let's meet for a hike and some GeoChatting!
When: Saturday, December 13th @ 10am
Where: Fort Stevenson State Park – Flicker Loop (1 mile)
Why: For the fifth year, the North Dakota Park & Recreation Department (NDPRD) has issued a statewide “12 Months – 12 Hikes” Challenge. To participate, just pick and hike a qualifying trail in one of the 14 state parks. You can complete your hikes all in one park or explore any of 14 locations across the state.
The North Dakota Geocaching Association (NDGCA) would like to help everyone complete their hiking challenge and climb the leaderboard. To do this, we will be hosting an event in a different state park each month, so we can get together with other geocachers and hike.
What: Feel free to wear festive holiday cloths. We will meet at the parking area for the visitor center/trainhead. We will chat a little before heading out on the Flicker LoopTrail to hike (we will wait until 10:10am to start the hiking) The hike is about 1 mile long. I will have snacks and hot chocolate for us all after the hike. I may even have a door prize :)
Reminders: A daily pass ($7) or annual ND state park pass ($35) is required to enter. Dress for the weather/trails
