A fan aptly described The Grandsons exuberant sound as “American music in a blender with the lid off.” The more prominent elements in this eclectic whirlpool are New Orleans rhythm and blues, rockabilly, swing, calypso, and country two-steps. The Grandsons have released eight CDs, two EPs, and have appeared on dozens of compilation over the years, including Raise the Roof (live recordings from the Barns at Wolf Trap), and various Hungry for Music compilations (backing such notables as Lester Chambers, Evan Johns, and Ruth Brown). Their recordings and live performances have earned them 15 WAMMIE awards from the Washington Area Music Association, including Artist of the Year, Best Roots Rock Recording, Best Roots Rock Band, Best Children’s Act, Best Album Design, Best Blues Musician (Chris), and best Pop band. Join The Grandsons as they move and shake into their 4th decade in the world of rock and roll!
