(Rockville, MD) – Artists & Makers Studios is thrilled to host Felicia L. Reed for the month of January. The exhibit will run from January 7th through January 28th, with a First Friday opening on January 9th from 5-8pm. Felicia L. Reed is an award-winning Washington, DC-based Fiber Artist and Advocate whose textile work in wet felting with silk and wool transforms lived experience into visual storytelling. As a survivor of domestic violence, Felicia uses art as a pathway to healing and empowerment. Each fiber and layer represents resilience, identity, and the strength to rebuild. Her work turns pain into beauty and memory into meaning. Through Rewoven, Felicia honors the process of renewal—showing that what is broken can be rebuilt, what is lost can be reimagined, and what is wounded can be healed. Her mantra remains: “Just heal it.” Damien Carter will hang a mini-solo exhibit in the Lounge Gallery. Enjoy a Pop-Up with Naan Pocen, the sculptural work of Francis Maduka Uduh in studio 11, along with nineteen Gallery 209 Member Artists exhibiting their latest work. Open Studios building-wide will welcome visitors to visit and learn. Shop and support local working artists, makers, and professionals. Enjoy a visit From Butterfly Spirits - the current Butterfly Spirits portfolio includes elderberry vodka, botanical liqueur, hazelnut whiskey and three vodka soda canned offerings. Light fare generously sponsored each month by The Chesapeake Framing Company.
