Your financial and volunteer support go a long way towards Crux's advocacy for LGBTQIA access to the sport. This allows us to hold safe and affirming spaces for LGBTQIA participants at our events. Email info@climbcrux.org to get involved!LEARN TRAD ANCHOR BASICSThinking about learning to trad climb? It's essential to know how to build a bomber trad anchor, so this class is a great place to start! This one day course will cover the basics of trad gear placement, and how to create an anchor on trad gear. The class is limited to 8 participants, and there will be 2 instructors.This course is being offered in partnership with our friends at Rise Outside Collective and will be taught by certified guides. The price includes the introductory lessons, and use of their technical gear.SUGGESTED PREREQUISITESThis class is designed for people who are already familiar and comfortable with building SERENE climbing anchors for top rope or sport lead.It is recommended that climbers learn to sport lead, or lead indoors before learning to lead trad, but it is not required.YOU PROVIDEThe class fee includes a day pass climbing permit at Peterskill. In addition to this, you are also responsible for:transportation to/from Peterskill - a rideshare sheet will be available to facilitate carpooling from NYCappropriate clothing for the day, rain or shinewaterlunch and snackstip for course instructors (not required, but encouraged)📣 FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE! Please email outdoor@climbcrux.org to inquire.🚨REFUNDSCrux would be stuck making up the difference if we had fewer than 8 participants. For this reason, there are NO REFUNDS unless the class is cancelled. If you can no longer make it, we can contact folks on the waitlist to try to help you find someone to take your spot, but you will not receive a refund until your spot is taken by someone else.If either Rise Outside or Crux decide to cancel the class, you will receive a full refund.
