Join Galway Community Circus, Extraordinary Bodies and young people from Enable Ireland, Galway Autism Partnership and Scoil Chaitríona as we Take Up Space!
***If you are family members of a performer in the show, please reach out to your group leader at Enable Ireland, Galway Autism Partnership or Scoil Chaitríona to secure tickets to the private family show at 12:30pm.***
A circus, musical and theatrical extravaganza drawing together our ensemble of professional and community performers. High-up in the air, low down on the ground, out of our comfort zones, pulling faces and hats, singing to our own tunes, moving to our own beats. We can do what we want to do, be what we want to be, and will be seen and heard. We have been exploring what it means to be centre-stage, exploring our untapped talents and creating something to share with you.
This relaxed performance is the culmination of 'Circus is for Every Body', a project started in September 2025 bringing together Galway Community Circus, Extraordinary Bodies, and young people from Enable Ireland, Galway Autism Partnership and Scoil Chaitríona, making circus participation and performance more accessible for D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent young people in Galway. Through two residences and ongoing circus workshops we have been on a creative journey; working together, learning and sharing skills and ideas and taking up spaces we are so often excluded from. This has been joyous, unique, funny, surprising, touching and empowering. We look forward to giving you a flavour of our journey, and of course, entertaining you. Welcome to the circus.
All are welcome to attend this family-friendly informal performance celebrating creativity, collaboration and inclusive circus.
All ticket proceeds go back into supporting Galway Community Circus's inclusive programmes.
Please note: As capacity is limited, we’d love your help in only reserving tickets you’re sure you can use, so we can fill the room for this special performance.
The Circus is for Every Body project and Take Up Space is funded by Rethink Ireland Disability and Participation Awareness Fund, RTE Toy Show Fund Appeal, Arts Council Ireland and Galway City Council.
